2020 has been one for the books in so many ways, and we are grateful for the way you have adapted to the changes and challenges; particularly those related to inventory levels. It’s important to us to communicate with you about the product development and supply chain process so that you can better understand why stock issues occur, especially over this last year. Our hope is that this will ease any stress you feel over inventory and give you confidence to reassure your customers when there are temporary stock issues from time to time.
This graphic is a representation of our product development and supply process. As you can see, ensuring quality, color accuracy, and functionality, plus the fulfillment of large-scale orders like ours, takes quite a bit of time, planning, and dependence on systems outside of our own!
Supply travel has slowed drastically in 2020 due to COVID, with huge increases in transit time and shipping cost. With our manufacturers closing and having to limit capacity to keep workers safe, we saw a delayed impact as the stock we had on hand was sold and our re-stock orders could not be filled on demand. This, coupled with an increase in sales and an already in motion full-scale rebrand, put further strain on this impaired process, which caused unprecedented stock issues.
Seint is a fast-growing company, and as such, Artists can expect that there will be out of stock products from time to time. Keeping all of our inventory well stocked requires accurate market predictions and careful coordination, but even still there are elements out of our control. We will continue to communicate ETAs for out of stock products so you can better serve your customers. Many products are only out of stock for a week or two, so you can reassure your customers that the products they want are returning soon.
